The Leitzinger Bassoon Competition and Festival

The 2017 Leitzinger Bassoon Festival and Competition will take place at Bard College Conservatory of Music January 14-15. The first day of the festival will feature masterclasses, performances, and workshops presented by prominent members of the bassoon community including Bard Conservatory’s bassoon faculty member Marc Goldberg. The second day of the festival will feature the Leitzinger Bassoon Competition. Further details on the festival and competition can be found below.

The Education Prize

Nolan Wenik from Willow Grove, Pennsylvania is the recipient of a full scholarship to the Bard College Conservatory of Music.

The Performance Prize

Traiain Sturza from Columbus, Georgia has been awarded a performance with the Bard Conservatory Orchestra during their upcoming 2017-18 season.

The Leitzinger Prize

The recipient of a new Stephan Leitzinger bassoon is Eli Holmes from Vestal, New York.
