Milan Turkovic about Leitzinger Bassoons

I had two occasions to hear and get acquanited with the sound of Stephan Leitzinger’s bassoons. In both cases, I played instruments with a wonderfully distinct, yet very direct and soft sound. Altough I did not play these instruments in an concert hall, it seemed that they had an excellent resonance and a markedly far-reaching and enigmatic sound.

Mr. Leitzinger is in permanent dialoque with bassoon players and thus well placed to directly intergrate their opinions and requirements into his instrument-building. Resorting to his profound craftsmanship, this seems natural to him, as his bassoons have so quickly reached astounding maturity of technical and sound quality.
